Tour de Fleece - one week down!

I'm so, so glad I elected to participate in this year's Tour de Fleece challenge! Today is a "rest day" (just like on the official Tour de France) so I am taking today's spinning time to update my progress here.

I joined in with Team Spindlers, which grew from the Spindlers group on Ravelry. The only downside of participating with this group is: I want to buy so many more spindles now. They're all just so beautiful! Cheering all the other spinners is so fun, and I'm really inspired to learn to chain-ply on my spindles next - after I finish the current fiber I'm working with I am going to muddle my way through some chain-plying tutorials. I've joked before that I'm a one-trick pony with my spinning but it's ok because I like my trick... but I'd really like to add chain-plying to my skill-set.

The fiber, a beautiful polwarth jointly dyed by Hello Yarn and Southern Cross Fibres, is just dreamy. I'm just about to start spinning my final 2 oz of it! After that I'll ply it up and then figure out what I want to make with it. A Rhinebeck cowl or shawl, maybe? Can't wait to swatch and see what it wants to be!
