On to the next one!
It's sweater time! I started this back in May, got most of it knit up, and then set it aside for awhile. A simple little top-down raglan cardigan made from The Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering (good stuff). I had three skeins to work with: one in a vibrant cerulean blue, from the Madison Knitter's Guild Knit-In Marketplace (where I got to meet Sarah, the Plucky Knitter herself!), and two in that gorgeous mossy green, a gift from the lovely Cecily.
This will be a lightweight, open cardigan with short sleeves and a garter-stitch edging. After finishing the sleeves, I realized I had enough yarn to add a little more length, so last night I ripped out the bottom cast-off and started adding a few more stripes. Right now I'm planning to knit the cardigan edging in striped garter stitch, which I think will go nicely with the ridged blue stripe texture throughout the sweater.
I go on vacation next week (Family! California! Beaches! Redwoods! Dear family friend's wedding! I CAN'T WAIT.) and would love to have this finished before I go. Since the coastal areas I'm visiting have been getting into the 50's at night, I'm pretty sure a light sweater like this will be perfect on this trip. I really can't wait to be here:
In unrelated news, I can't get Purple Rain out of my head this morning, and I like it, and I'm rolling with it.
