Mesa View cowl, v2
::taps mic:: Is this thing still on? Phew! Nothing like actually finishing something to motivate me to get to the blog again.
I made a cowl! A second Mesa View Cowl in this lovely, naturally oatmeal-colored Breakfast Blend fingering yarn from the wonderful folks at Knitspot. Anne, Erica, and David sent me two skeins to play with - this lovely oatmeal color, and a really pretty dark brown - and they've been at the top of the squish basket near my desk ever since. (Yep, that's a thing. Sometimes you just need a squish, you know?)
After fondling the yarn for a while, and noticing that I don't really have any neutral or light-colored cowls, I realized this skein had a destiny. I think the garter stitch zig-zags pop nicely in this oatmeal yarn, and the alpaca in the blend gives the finished cowl a lovely, cozy drape (extra important with these long infinity cowls, I think - especially if I unbutton this and wear it as a scarf). Nothing like having a new cowl ready to go well before it's actually cowl weather!
p.s. I miiiight be biased, but I still think my dog has the cutest sheppieface in all the land. In case you were wondering.
